Last night was the Republican presidential debate. I didn’t watch it because I was too busy watching the Sons of Anarchy season premier that I had DVR’d the night before, I’m not a republican, and political discussion usually leads to me binge drinking and reorganizing my kitchen cabinets as if I were preparing for a zombie apocalypse.
Let me just reiterate: I hate politics.
During the debate last night, Rick Perry was asked about his conscience and the record amount of executions carried out in the state of Texas. His response was that of a gun slinger with the letter of the law on his side and he played the crowd with all of his cowboy swagger. The only thing missing was a Sarah Palin style wink. Then the crowd cheered.
It’s difficult to discern if it was just the standard applause showing support for the candidate, or if it was adulation for his clean conscience in the face of 234 executions.
What do you think?
